Steam sweet potato fatt Koh 番署发糕

I haven't been able to blog consistently because I have way too much damage rectification to settle.  The aftermath of that one year three months is crazy.  I am now slowly going through all the rooms and putting everything back into its original place.

I am going to take this week really slow as son is done with school till his O level exam and hubby is away.

Wanted something different for the kids' breakfast tomorrow.  Decided to steam some Fatt Koh instead.

Actually I am not a big fan of such cakes.  Perhaps this reminded me too much of those available during some prayer offerings.  Then again, I wanted to expose my kids to it.

In the past I have heard way too many on the failure rate on not able to attain that "smiling effect".  After seeing how pretty Humble Home Baker made hers, I was motivated.

That 15 mins of waiting is full of anticipation.  Will I succeed?  Will I fail?  Well to distract myself, I went to sweep the floor instead.

Well, I didn't get as pretty effect as Humble Home Baker's but I got nothing to be unhappy with too because mine did open up.  Maybe not a whole heartedly laugh but the giggles were enough to make me happy.

Let's see whether my kids take to this.  If yes, there will be more to come because mommy is not done with her experiment.
