Kaarage

My daughter loves chicken nuggets and I refrain her from buying MacDonald's.  Those are seriously not made from chicken!  You can't even see chicken bits in it!  Same goes with their chicken burger.  It is horrible.  Luckily they have the Spicy Chicken Burger that has real chicken in it.

Just like I don't fancy premixes.  As much as possible, I like to make my own.

As all mothers do, who always wanted good stuff for their kids, so if it is within my control, I would love to feed them with real stuff.

Since I had promised her that I will made REAL chicken nuggets for her as to discourage her from eating those junks and also to show her what is real food and what is not.

Here is my Kaarage and hope she will like it.  Easy and tasty.

What you need:

600g chicken thighs or chicken breast boneless
1 tbsp grated ginger
1½ tsp of minced garlic
2 tbsp soya sauce
1 tbsp mirin
½ tsp pepper
potato starch for coating
vegetable oil

Method:

Cut chicken thighs or breast into chunks or bite size.

Add the ginger, garlic, soy sauce, mirin and pepper to the chicken pieces and marinate it well.  Let it chill for an hour or two.

Heat vegetable oil in wok.

Thoroughly coat chicken chunks with potato starch and deep fried until golden brown.

Serve with salad.

  3. Hi Edith!

My daughter is always looking for creative ways to serve chicken nuggets. My grandson is a bit of a fussy eater and will only eat chicken nuggets. Funny thing is, he's becoming quite the fast food chicken nugget "connoisseur" and he does not like any from McDonald's. I must pass this recipe link on to my daughter. I have a feeling Noah will love them!

Thank you so much for sharing...
