Quinoa

The last time I cooked Quinoa was 2 Christmases ago.  How time flies.

So today, I shall try again as I had forgotten to document it down in this little space of mine.  I started enjoying Quinoa when I first try it as a salad and appreciate the benefits of eating it.

Out of the grains out there, quinoa scored the highest in its nutritional value.  It has 12 types of nutrients and it is also packed with fiber which is a good source of detox for me.

I am introducing this to my parents too as it has protein and the elderly tend to stay out of red meat due to chewing issues.

Anyway, I am sure you can research on its benefits.

What you need:
yield : 1.5 cups

92g quinoa
213g water
½ tsp olive oil
 1/4 tsp salt

Method:

Rinse quinoa under running water.  Drain.

Heat a pot with the olive oil until hot.

Add in the quinoa and stir until no liquid and continue for another 2 mins.

Add in water and salt and bring to a boil.

Lower heat and cover and let it cook for 15 mins.

Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 mins covered.

Fluff and then serve.

Enjoy!
