Gouda and tomatoes tart

Initially I bought a packet of ready made prata, intending to do a prata with sausage roll but I have forgotten to add the sausages into the shopping cart.  Too lazy to make another trip so I decided to use whatever it is available in my fridge.

Saw Gouda in the fridge and some cherry tomatoes as well.   So here is my Gouda and tomatoes tart for our Sunday morning breakfast.

Verdict: Hubby and daughter said they prefer prata better than puff pastry.  Overall, they like it very much.

As for me, I am happy because these are so easy to put together.

What you need:

2 eggs
½ cup heavy cream
¼ cup milk
115g Gouda cheese, grated
6 slices bacon
Cherry tomatoes
salt to taste

Ready made prata

Method:

Place frozen prata into tart tin.  Slowly ease with some pleats to fit the tin nicely.  Return to freezer.

Fry bacon until crispy.  Set aside to drain off the oil.

In a small bowl, whisk together 2 eggs, heavy cream, milk. Add shredded cheese and fried bacon and mix well.

Add salt to taste, if desired.

Pour fillings into into frozen prata and arrange tomatoes in it.

Baked at 180 deg for 20 mins or until golden brown.

Serve hot.
