To mark the end of the mid year exam, I prepared my kids' favourite to celebrate all the hard work put into it.
Most of the time, I prepare thick crust pizza and wanted to give change to it. So this time, I opted for a Thin Crust Pizza.
Findings: I should have bake the pizza on the lowest rack and then shift up to brown out the cheese.
The crust is crispy to the recipe claimed. I think it will be even better if I baked it on a pizza stone. That way, even the inner areas will be crisp too.
What you need:
170g lukewarm water
½ tsp instant yeast
284g plain flour
½ salt
Method:
Preheat oven to 230 deg C. Prepare 2 X 12" pizza tray.
Add yeast and a pinch of sugar to water. Stir to
combine. Set aside to foam up.
In a mixing bowl, add flour and make a well.
Add salt to the side.
Pour in the yeast mixture and knead on low speed to form a
rough dough. Increase speed and knead until dough is smooth and elastic.
(approx 5 mins).
Remove and divide dough into 2.
Form into a ball.
Dust the counter top with some flour. Roll the dough
into a round approx ¼" thick,
Bake for about 5 mins and then rotate and bake for another 3
mins. Remove.
Spread your favourite pizza sauce and add your favourite toppings.
Bake for another 10 mins on the lowest rack and bake another 5 mins on the highest rack until edge and cheese are golden brown.
Cheers!
