Aloe Vera Sweet Soup 芦荟甜汤 (2)

Not sure whether it is the haze or the burning of incense, my throat has been really raw.  I am very prone to cough and once it gets into the system, I will have a hard time shaking it off.  There are times, I can cough for up to 3 months or more.

Anyway, my aloe vera plants have been really good to me.  Growing strong and healthy.   Harvested them to make this Aloe Vera Sweet Soup 芦荟甜汤 (2) that I took the idea from my hubby's classmate.

The last time I added dried longan when I prepared this but this time round, to combat the heatiness, it is a NO NO for longan.

What you need:

Aloe Vera
Wolfberries
Red Dates (remove pits)
Water
Raw Sugar

Method:

Shave off the aloe vera skin well.  Cut into cubes.

Rinse wolfberries and red dates.

Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the ingredients.

Bring to a boil and low down heat to a simmer.  Simmer for 30 mins.

Sweeten with raw sugar.

Serve either hot or cold.

I am submitting this to the Best Recipes for Everyone August 2015 Event (Theme: Dim Sum) organized by Fion XuanHom's Mum Kitchen Diary) and hosted by May (厨苑食谱).

Stay healthy!
