Muar Otah Roll

Near my place, there is a very popular Chicken Rice restuarant.  Few years ago, they bought over another shop space and went into Nonya food as well.

I hardly visit because I don't find their food really fantastic and prices are on the above average and I don't like having that long queue especially during weekend but sometime, I am just too lazy to cook and went there instead.

Anyway, during one of our trip, we tried Muar Otah Roll.  This dish looks good on the wall poster.  We were shock at the portion size when it arrived.  For that kind of price, I rather replicate this at home.

It is a no brainer dish, just make sure you get a good Muar Otah for this dish.

What you need:

1 packet of Muar Otah
6 pcs of cabbage leave

Method:

Cut Muar Otah into 6 pcs.

Blanched the cabbage leaves till soft.  Remove.

Place otah onto the leave on the broader end, wrapped both end and roll towards the narrower end.  Cut off the thick part.

Place on the dish and steam for 15 mins or till otah firm up.

Serve hot with rice.

Hi Edith, this is easy and yummy too. I would usually just steam it and have it with rice. Will definitely give this a try. Something different. Thanks for sharing :)
