Grilled Honey Chicken

I wasn't really successful the other day when I grilled some chicken leg for dinner.  So tonight I decided to try chicken wing with Happy Call pan instead.  I think it is easier to cook chicken wing than the whole chicken leg.  I left a big mess in the kitchen by using my grill pan the other day.

Grilled Honey Chicken Wings turned out to be a keeper.  Unfortunately I didn't get to grill it well as I was afraid that it will get burnt easily due to the honey.  Perhaps next round, I will set the flame lower and do the flip and turn method frequent.

Source : Nigella Lawson

What you need:

8 chicken wings (Mine was 24 pcs)
1 1/2 tbsp honey (I used 3 tbsp)
3 tbsp light soya sauce (I used 6 tbsp)
3 splashes sesame oil (I used 3 tbsp)

Method:

Marinate chicken wings for 1/2 day in the chiller.

Heat up a happy call pan and place chicken wing in it.  Cook on low flame, turning frequently to prevent charring.

Once golden brown, remove.

Serve with rice or as a finger food.

I'm submitting this post to Cook Like A Star, organised by Zoe from Bake for Happy KidsJoyce from Kitchen Flavours and Anuja from Simple Baking where this month guest chef is Nigella Lawson

  11. Hi Edith,

I prefer to use the oven to grill chicken wings so that I can chuck it and check on them in every 5-10 mins. Lazy me! I have not try using Happy Call to grill chicken wings... Thanks for this great tip!

  12. Hi Edith
your chicken wings definitely look delicious.
but, I'm wondering if the soya sauce used in the recipe is the sweet one or salty?

  13. It is a light soya sauce. The taste for the chicken is a cross between salty and sweet. It is v good. Do try it.

  14. Hi, noticed that you reduced the seasonings measured quite alot. Was the original recipe very salty? If I grill in oven, how long and what temperature pls?

    1. Veron, i didn't follow the exact recipe as I realised that my chicken wings will be swimming in a big tub of soya sauce so I stopped at what I indicated. If you grill, set at 170deg. and monitor after 10 mins coz i don't know how hot your oven and because there is honey to this recipe, you have to flip it over often coz it might burn. Best use open grill so that it will be easier.
